When your little one is born life becomes brand new because you feel as though you have never lived before; at least not like this. It is truly the most satisfying, amazing journey that just can't be topped. Every day I am with her is the best day of my life. I am so proud to be my babies momma. There is nothing like the smile from a baby when they first wake up in the morning or the joy you feel when they laugh.

One minute calm ... the next crying ....
This is typical behavior of my little cutie in the early days. One minute she is acting sweet and innocent and the next she is acting like a wild child. So she rubs off on me and I act wild too. :) - Daddy

Mistaken as being pregnant
Yesterday was the first time I was mistaken to be pregnant, ouch...what a blow to the ego. I think it makes for a good motivator though and that's exactly how I'm going to use it. I was shopping at Pottery Barn Kids and left Kira with daddy. Inside the store there was a father with his two daughters and they were trying to decide between the purchase of two lounge chairs, so he placed the chairs on the ground so the girls could test them out. I happened to be shopping in the same area and got trapped in a corner so I tried to squeeze between their "chair test extravaganza." That's when the dad said, "Girls, please move out of the way so this lady doesn't trip, fall, and deliver right here." It took me a second to comprehend the words that just came out of his mouth....WHAT? Did he just infer that I was prego and would give birth right there in the store if I fell? I realize that he meant no harm and had no idea. Not to mention I was without my baby so he had no idea...so the moral of the story is that if you are trying to loose your baby weight don't leave home without her so you don't get mistaken for being pregnant still.

Baby Bathtime Bubbles
There are a few moments that are my favorite and bath time is surely one of
them. As you can see from the pictures she didn't always like bath time. Her very
first sponge bath at the hospital was not very enjoyable & she cried the whole
time to make sure everyone knew. Of course she didn't cry through all the pokes and
prods from the shots they gave her, but she just couldn't hold back the tears for her
bath. Currently; our new struggle is her trying to jump out of her tub, rubbing her eyes when she has soap on her hands, or kicking off all the washcloths.
As you can see she is wearing the latest for this winter season from the 2010 baby
bubbles line...she is adorned in a half and half combo with a matching cap.

Baby Cupcake, cupcake, get your cupcake!
So, my sister helped me come up with this plan to tell my mom the good news about expecting our first baby. We told my mom we wanted to all get together for breakfast, no big deal. After we all ate our breakfast I mentioned that I brought dessert for everyone to share which was a beautifully decorated cupcake that read "We're expecting." She surely had to do a double take and since she didn't have her glasses on she had to make sure she really read what she thought she just read. It was great it made her yelp with excitement and of course start crying with joy after wards.

We're having a ....baby
When we decided to tell people we were expecting a baby we wanted to be creative. We told my sister the news first because we knew she would be excited. I wrote her a card that was addressed to someone else so my sister had no idea it was for her. I just asked her to read the card and told me what she thought. She had no idea that the card was really for her. In the card I wrote a line that said, "Do you remember how we used to play with our dollies when we were younger and you would babysit for me...well now maybe you can babysit for real. Congrats you are going to be an auntie." The look on her face was priceless along with the tears that came after.
Bouncy chair vs. Baby Swing
Ding, ding, ding...and the winner is bouncy chair. It's so funny because the bouncy
chair doesn't have all the bells and whistles that the swing does but she prefers to
hang out in her bouncy chair. The bouncy chair was about $35.00 and the baby
swing was about $150.00. Just goes to show you that bigger isn't always better.
